Onsite Generation — power infrastructure for data center campuses
← SpecialtiesSP-02 / Stage 2 of 8

Onsite Generation

When the grid can't deliver in time, generation moves onsite. We find the engineers and developers who make behind-the-meter power work.

// Overview

What onsite generation teams do

Core skills we screen for
  • Gas turbine and reciprocating engine projects
  • Battery energy storage design
  • Air permitting and environmental compliance
  • Fuel supply and pipeline coordination
  • Microgrid controls and grid integration

Onsite generation specialists develop, build and operate power plants located at or near a data center campus. Projects range from backup and bridge power to permanent primary supply.

These teams handle technology selection, equipment procurement, air permits, fuel supply and integration with the grid — work that has historically lived at independent power producers rather than data center companies.

// Roles we place

Our networks in onsite generation help clients reach people who aren’t actively looking — usually the ones who matter most.

// Common questions

Onsite Generation hiring, answered.

How long does a onsite generation search take?+

Most onsite generation searches produce a shortlist within three to five weeks and close within two to three months. Senior and highly specialized roles can take longer, which is why we recommend starting before the project needs the hire.

Where do you find onsite generation candidates?+

We recruit from independent power producers, utility generation groups, oems and epc firms, military and industrial energy programs, as well as from data center companies. Many of the strongest candidates are not actively looking.

Do you fill confidential roles?+

Yes. Many searches are confidential. We describe the opportunity without naming the client until a candidate is qualified and interested.

Can you help us define the role?+

Yes. We often help clients scope onsite generation roles, set reporting lines and benchmark compensation before the search begins.
