// Our veteran charter

Service builds the grid. We help it keep building.

A large share of the people who keep America's power systems running learned their craft in uniform. Supporting that community is a standing charter of our business: reduced-fee recruiting for veteran-owned companies, and dedicated, no-cost placement support for veteran candidates.

// Why veterans

The skills transfer directly

Military power production technicians, electricians, nuclear operators, seabees, and civil engineers have run generation and distribution systems in conditions most civilian crews never see. They bring documented safety discipline, shift operations experience, and the habit of following — and writing — procedures that actually get followed.

The gap is usually translation, not capability. Military occupational specialties don't map cleanly onto civilian job titles, and hiring managers outside the community often miss what a Navy nuke electrician or an Army prime power specialist actually did. That translation is the work we do every day.

Data centers and utilities face the same shortage from the other side: they need people who can operate critical infrastructure safely, around the clock, from day one. Veterans are the deepest underused pool of exactly that experience in the country.

// For veteran-owned companies

Reduced-fee recruiting

If your company is majority veteran-owned, we run searches at a discounted placement fee. Same process, same rigor, same guarantee terms — a lower number on the invoice. Tell us about your ownership status when you request talent and we'll confirm eligibility and the current rate in writing before any work starts.

Eligibility

Companies at least 51% owned by one or more veterans. Verification is a short conversation, not paperwork theater.

The discount

A reduced placement fee on contingency and retained searches, confirmed in writing before the search begins.

No shortcuts

Identical search process, candidate vetting and replacement terms as our standard engagements.

// For veteran candidates

Placement support, at no cost to you

Candidates never pay GridTal anything — that's true for everyone. For veterans and transitioning service members we go further: resume translation from military to civilian language, interview preparation, and honest guidance on which power and data center roles your experience actually qualifies you for.

Translation

We convert your MOS, rating or AFSC into the titles and keywords civilian employers search for.

Preparation

Mock interviews and coaching on explaining military experience to commercial hiring teams.

Advocacy

We present your background to clients directly, with context a job board never carries.

// Common questions

Veteran charter questions

How do I claim the veteran-owned discount?+

Mention it when you submit a talent request or contact us. We'll ask a few questions about ownership, confirm eligibility and the current discounted rate in writing, and then start the search. Nothing is retroactive — the rate is set before work begins.

I'm still on active duty. When should I reach out?+

As early as you like. Many of the veterans we place start conversations six to twelve months before separation. Early conversations let us map your experience to the market and line up interviews around your transition date.

Do I need a college degree for these roles?+

Often no. Many power and data center operations roles value certifications, documented hands-on experience and safety records over degrees. We'll tell you honestly where a credential gap exists and which certifications close it fastest.

Does the discount apply to every search?+

It applies to our standard contingency and retained searches for veteran-owned companies. Unusually large or specialized engagements may be quoted individually — we'll always confirm terms in writing first.

Is this a limited-time program?+

No. It's a standing charter of the business. Rates and terms can change over time, but the commitment to veteran-owned clients and veteran candidates is permanent.
