00 / The opportunity
Our client is a global digital infrastructure company with data center campuses in more than a dozen U.S. states. As utilities and commissions write new rules for large loads, it needs a senior voice in those proceedings.
You'll report to the Chief Energy Officer and lead a small team of regulatory analysts and outside counsel.
01 / What you’ll do
- Set regulatory strategy for large-load tariffs, rate cases and integrated resource plans
- Lead filings, interventions and testimony before state commissions and FERC
- Build working relationships with utilities, regulators and industry coalitions
- Track policy developments and brief leadership on risk to site plans
- Manage outside counsel, consultants and regulatory budgets
- Coordinate with public affairs on community and legislative engagement
02 / What you bring
- 10+ years in utility regulation, energy policy or regulatory law
- Experience appearing before state public utility commissions
- Deep understanding of utility ratemaking and tariff design
- Excellent writing, testimony and negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree; JD or master’s in economics or public policy a plus
03 / Nice to have
- Prior experience at a utility, commission or large energy buyer
- Experience in PJM, ERCOT or the Southeast
- Familiarity with data center or large industrial loads
