00 / The opportunity
Our client is a hyperscale data center developer with more than 1.5 GW of campuses in development across the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia. Power is the gating item on every site, and this role owns it.
You'll report to the VP of Energy and act as the single point of accountability for every large-load service request in the region, working closely with utility account teams, transmission planners and internal development leads.
01 / What you’ll do
- Own large-load and interconnection requests from initial application through signed facilities and service agreements
- Coordinate load-flow, system impact and facilities studies with Duke Energy, Dominion and Georgia Power
- Build and maintain a portfolio-level schedule of power milestones and flag timing risk early
- Advise site selection and development teams on capacity, voltage and point-of-interconnection options
- Negotiate cost allocation, security requirements and ramp schedules with utilities
- Represent the company in utility stakeholder meetings and regional planning forums
02 / What you bring
- 7+ years in interconnection, transmission planning or utility large-load service
- Direct experience working with Southeast utilities and their tariff processes
- Strong working knowledge of FERC, NERC and state commission requirements
- Ability to read and challenge system impact and facilities study results
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy or a related field
03 / Nice to have
- Prior utility-side experience in transmission planning or key accounts
- Experience with data center, industrial or other large-load customers
- PE license
